1 Corinthians 16:9 “Because a great door for effective work has opened to me…”

Not a small opportunity, but a great and wide door. My prayer for you in 2026 is that God will open doors far and wide to lead you into your destiny.

May every door that was shut in your life, and even in previous generations, be opened for the glory of God, in Jesus’ name.

However, there are times, you may lose God’s open door if you do not see it by faith. What do I mean? Before we get there, let us take a moment to declare a few scriptures.

Declaring scripture is powerful. These are to be declared, not just read. Speak them over your life:

• Psalm 18:36 “You make a broad path for my feet, so that my ankles do not give way.”
• Isaiah 35:8 “And a highway will be there; it will be called the Way of Holiness.”
• Isaiah 43:16-19 “I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.”
• Exodus 14:21-22 “The Israelites went through the sea on dry ground.”
• Revelation 3:7-8 “See, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut.”

When Moses and the Israelites stood before the Red Sea, it was a closed door. Behind them was Pharaoh and his mighty army, ready to destroy them. In front of them was the sea. A closed door behind and a closed door ahead. It remained a closed door until Moses had the faith to raise his staff and see God part the sea.

In practical terms, a sea is not an open door for humans. However, the same sea can become God’s open door when there is faith.

In the life of the Lord Jesus, when He walked on the Sea of Galilee, it was faith that made the water like dry ground, allowing Him to move closer to fulfilling God’s will for His life. This time, the Lord did not part the waters, but He walked on the waters.

As God begins to open doors, they may not always look like a wide, golden gate opening before your eyes. Praise God when such doors open and you clearly recognise them.

But only a heart of faith will not miss the opportunity when God opens a door that does not look like a door. For a fact, it might look like there is no door – but eyes and spirit of faith will see it differently.

It is faith that turns a sinking sea into a stepping stone.

Without faith, like the Israelites, we may begin to complain against the Lord, missing the promised land, even when we are only one step away.

What if this year you are one step away from your miracle, your key moment, your step into destiny? Faith as small as a mustard seed can do wonders, for it is this same faith that pleases God and opens more doors.

Why will God open doors for you?

It’s not just to bless you but to bless others through you. As Apostle Paul says, 1 Corinthians 16:9 “Because a great door for effective work has opened to me…”, God will open great doors for effective work of salvation of souls. Never forget that. Your destiny is beyond just you and your family – God is waiting for you to yield yourself so He can win souls and bring many to salvation through you.

Let 2026 be God’s wide and great door for you to for your breakthrough as you grow more into His image, His likeness, and to reflect Him in the lives of those around you.

Dear Father, We pray that you will fill us with Your Spirit of faith and wisdom and enable us to see the great wide doors that You have opened for us in 2026 and beyond. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
